MHT CET 2024: list of documents needed for admissions; CAP registration soon

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) cell has recently unveiled the prerequisites for admissions to various programs offered in the first and second years through MHT CET 2024. The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for 2024, covering disciplines like engineering, pharmacy, architecture, MBA, hotel management, and others, is set to kick off soon on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.

In an official announcement, the CET cell underscored the significance of securing specific documents from competent authorities for smooth processing of admissions. “The aspirants are hereby informed to obtain the following certificates from the competent authorities and keep them ready in the necessary cases mentioned in the admission rules of the respective courses while applying for the same,” stated the notice.

Emphasizing the importance of authenticity, the cell cautioned against the use of counterfeit documents, highlighting past instances where candidates faced severe consequences for submitting falsified certificates. “During the academic year 2016-17, it was found after verification that some candidates submitted fake certificates like Caste / Tribe Certificates / Caste Validity Certificates / Disability Certificate / Non Creamy Layer Certificates during the admission process without obtaining them from the competent authorities. The admission of the candidates has been canceled and criminal cases have been registered against them,” it added.

For the convenience of applicants, here’s a comprehensive list of documents mandated by the Maharashtra CAP 2024:

  1. Caste or tribe certificate
  2. Caste or tribe validity certificate
  3. Non-Creamy layer certificate valid till March 31, 2025, for all backward class candidates, excluding Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes. Additionally, candidates domiciled outside Maharashtra, even if they belong to backward classes, are not eligible for reservation under the state’s professional course admission policy.
  4. Nationality certificate and domicile certificate
  5. Income certificate for candidates applying under the TFWS (Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme).
  6. EWS certificate
  7. PwD certificate
  8. Certificate for candidates seeking admission from the defense cadre.
  9. Aadhaar number and attached bank account for scholarship and fee reimbursement purposes.
  10. Experience certificate and no-obligation certificate for working professionals. Those applying under this scheme must possess an experience certificate validating one year of regular employment in a registered industry/establishment (central, state, or private)/public limited company/MSME. Additionally, a non-cancellation certificate from the concerned establishment is required for admission.

Ensuring compliance with these document requirements is essential to streamline the admission process and avoid any discrepancies or delays. Candidates are urged to prioritize obtaining genuine certificates from the appropriate authorities to facilitate a seamless application process and secure their academic pursuits.
