School Toppers is excited to share the highlights of an exhilarating full-day Hot Air Balloon workshop cum competition held at IIT Bombay on April 21. Whether you’ve always dreamed of soaring high or are simply curious about the science behind it, this workshop offered an unforgettable experience.
The event began with enthusiastic participants gathering at the IIT Bombay campus, eager to embark on a journey into the fascinating world of hot air ballooning. The workshop aimed not only to provide an opportunity for participants to witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of hot air balloons but also to delve into the principles of flight and explore the technology that makes it all possible.
Led by esteemed professors from IIT Bombay, the workshop kicked off with an insightful session on the science behind hot air balloons. Participants learned about the principles of buoyancy, the role of heat in generating lift, and the mechanics of steering and controlling the balloon.
Following the theoretical session, it was time for the hands-on experience. Participants were divided into teams and tasked with constructing their own miniature hot air balloons. Guided by expert instructors, they meticulously assembled their creations, paying attention to every detail to ensure optimal performance.
Once the balloons were ready, the real fun began as participants eagerly awaited the moment of launch.
